Here's to Now

Whoa. It's been a month since Andrew and I have been engaged, and a week since he left for Louisiana. 

Time flies hey?

By day I am a receptionist, by night a bartender, runner, and wedding planner :)

We are really making progress on the wedding planning, I think I have more fun with it than Andrew ;)

Andrew's first week is going well, lots of prep work before the expeditions begin! His first group comes on February 6th, so him and Darwin need to find the loons and capture a few before they have an audience!

Engaged!

Well, as most of you have heard, Andrew and I are engaged!

It was Christmas at the East household on December 27th. Mixed with all the presents there was a big chunk of oak sitting under the tree with a bow on it. Andrew and Janelle played Santa and divvied out the presents and I get the chunk 'o wood.

I obviously leave the chunk o' wood to last because I was a bit confused. So when I finally get to it, Andrew takes my hand and says that this piece of oak is to be made into a mixing bowl for our kitchen. However, it will take a lot of work to make, we will have to make it together, and we will have to continuously take care of it just like a marriage and then he asked me if this could represent our marriage... and I said YES! 

Andrew had gotten this idea from an author he has been reading a lot of David James Duncan (The River Why, River Teeth, and My Story as told by Water). The chunk o' wood is currently oak, but we also have options of pine, basswood and others all of which were chosen and cut by Andrew's dad, Gene.

We have already set a date and place: October 13th, 2012 at Lakewoods Resort in Cable, WI. 

Thank you to all the family and friends who have been there for us and helped us get to where we are today :)

I'm Going to Miss This

This is from our last night in Oregon. Having dinner at Mike’s house, watching Pixar movies, puppy cuddling, and potlucking and thinking about what I will miss about this place:
